C. Identifying Purposes

Edge is respectful of the need for consent and will obtain client and candidate consent to collect, use or disclose personal information (except where, as noted below, we are authorized to do so without consent).

E. Collection of Information
Edge collects, collates and retains only the personal information that is necessary for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy including but not limited to the following:
- Your business contact information
- Your employment history
- your academic history and qualifications;
- your references
- your salary requirements
- assessments performed by Edge consultants;
- correspondence exchanged by Edge and its clients.
F. Use and Disclosure of Information
Edge uses and discloses personal information only for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy, unless we have your consent to use and disclose under circumstances of your choosing or unless we are permitted or required to do so by law.
Edge will never, under any circumstances, disclose your personal information to potential employers without your express prior consent.
Edge will not use or disclose a client or candidate’s personal information for any additional purpose unless we obtain consent to do so
Edge will only share your personal information with people who have a legitimate business interest in seeing it, including but not limited to client firms and organizations seeking to hire legal professionals, to conduct client or candidate surveys in order to enhance the provision of our services; to contact our clients or candidates directly about new recruitment services that may be of interest.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties who contract or collaborate with us in the provision of our full range of services, including marketing and events.
G. Retaining and Destroying Information
Edge will retains personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy.
Edge will destroy personal information when it is no longer required to fulfill the identified purpose, or when destruction is required by law or requested by you.
Edge obtains commitments from third parties to whom we transfer personal information, confirming that those third parties will abide by applicable privacy legislation and this Privacy Policy by retaining personal information only while it is required to fulfill the identified purpose, and destroying the personal information when it is no longer required.
H. Ensuring Accuracy
Edge maintains records of personal information as accurate, current and complete where they may be used to make a decision about the client or candidate or disclosed to another organization or as necessary for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy.
You may request a correction of your personal information in our custody or control in writing to our Privacy Officer, if you believe our records to be inaccurate or incomplete.
If your personal information is demonstrated to be inaccurate or incomplete, we will correct the information as required and send the corrected information to any organization to which we disclosed the personal information in the previous year. If the correction is not made, we will note the client’s or candidate’s correction request in the file.

Edge is committed to the security and protection of all personal information, through physical, organizational and technical safeguards, from unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, or disposal or similar risks.
We retain very few paper records, those we retain are stored in locked, pin protected filing cabinets in our secure offices. Electronic documents are kept in password-protected files stored on our cloud server in Vancouver, secured with encryption and firewalls and accessed only via the use of user IDs and passwords.

K. Requesting Access to your Personal Information
You have a right to access your personal information, subject to limited exceptions such as: (i) solicitor-client privilege, (ii) disclosure would reveal personal information about another individual, (iii) health and safety concerns.
Edge requires a written request, providing sufficient detail to identify the personal information being sought, from individuals seeking access to their personal information.
Upon request, we will also tell individuals how we use their personal information and to whom it has been disclosed, if applicable.
Edge will make the requested information available within 60 business days or provide written notice of an extension where additional time is required to fulfill the request.
In addition, information in some cases may have been destroyed pursuant to our records retention and destruction practices. If we are unable to provide you with access, we will inform you in writing of the reasons why not and the recourse available to you.

L. Complaints, Compliance and Questions
The Privacy Officer handles compliance with applicable privacy legislation. Edge responds to written complaints regarding compliance as required by applicable privacy legislation.
Edge responds as promptly as we can to inquiries about our policies and practices relating to the handling of personal information.
